Connecting Global Impact in Building Essential Skills: A Recap of Our Monthly Network Event

Each month, we host a virtual gathering for our global network of partners. These are a fantastic opportunity for organisations from around the world to connect, share insights, challenges, and successes.

One of the highlights of the event was a presentation by Mansi from The Apprentice Project in India. Mansi shared her organisation's journey in integrating essential skills into their programs and explained how the Global Impact Fellowship has been instrumental in their success.

The Apprentice Project's Story

A slide from the presentation. It's explaining some of the reasons why organisations should choose SkillsBuilder Global Impact Fellowship. With specific focus on Systematic Skills Integration and Expert Guidance.

The Apprentice Project is an organisation dedicated to empowering young people with 21st-century skills. They recognise the importance of equipping young people with essential skills like problem-solving and creativity. However, they faced the challenge of effectively integrating these skills into their existing curriculum and measuring their impact.

According to Mansi in India, half of young people miss out on job opportunities due to a lack of 21st-century skills. Mansi explained that academic qualifications alone are not enough; essential skills like creativity and problem-solving are extremely important.

The Apprentice Project aligned their self-learning videos with the Skills Builder Universal Framework by identifying specific skill steps, tailoring content to different learning levels, integrating essential skills into their curriculum, and developing reflective activities to measure student understanding.

“The reflective questions that are there for each of the steps within the framework are super helpful because it just helps the instructor stay on the right path in terms of asking the correct kinds of questions to the students “
