Sharing inspiring best practice at our Global Educators Webinar

In our recent webinar, 'Building Impact Over Time,' we heard expert insights from three Gold Award schools: Shri Natesan Vidyasala MHSS, Pragnya Bodhini High School, and Auxilium Convent High School. Experienced Skills Leaders from these schools revealed the link between essential skills best practices and positive learner outcomes.

Practical examples of impactful essential skill development

Our passionate and knowledgeable speakers shared strategies for achieving deeper, long-term learner impact through effective planning and teaching.

Webinar participants heard how life readiness and essential skills are developed using the support of the Skills Builder Accelerator programme and the Universal Framework.

Shri Natesan shares how their learners strengthen and reflect on essential skills

Our speaker from Shri Natesan shared how their school's focus on life readiness over exam readiness has been strengthened by integrating the Skills Builder Accelerator Programme for the last four years.

We learnt how a science exhibition is used to develop learners’ communication skills and encourage social responsibility.  Engaging in international debates, Economist Topical Talks, and global panel discussions also strengthen learners' communication, teamwork, leadership, and critical thinking skills, while fostering global citizenship.

Pragnya Bodhini High School discuss the importance of developing essential skills for success

Our next speaker from Pragnya Bodhini High School described their whole-school approach to essential skills development over the last 4 years. It was interesting to hear how they collaborate with other schools (local, regional, and international), through annual flagship events, SEMA film projects and community initiatives to engage both learners and educators. These events provide an opportunity for learners to develop and reflect on their essential skills in a range of real life situations… "...so that every child feels like a leader" - Anjun Panna, Pragnya Bodhini School.

Auxilium Convent High School's highlights the benefits of long-term support to develop essential skills

Our final speaker from Auxilium Convent High School described their school's long-term commitment to the Skills Builder Accelerator program, with dedicated weekly classes and a strong strategic team approach.

"Skills Builder is synonymous with our school. It's the guiding force behind us.

Alisha Khan, Auxilium Convent High School

Alisha went on to highlight their use of varied assessment strategies, including questionnaires and self-assessment tools to measure impact and inform planning.

They also shared how they used a school science exhibition to showcase their essential skills program and promote the Skills Builder Partnership to other schools. It was a wonderful example of how to support our collective mission - that one day everyone will build the essential skills to succeed.

An opportunity to inspire our global community

The webinar was also a valuable opportunity for participants to join discussion groups, share their experiences and ask questions.  The webinar aimed to ignite educators' passion for strengthening their essential skills initiatives and the positive feedback confirms its success:

“Thank you so much to the speakers for sharing their practice! And to the Skills Builder Partnership for organizing this event”.
