The integration of the universal framework into our primary and secondary school resources has enhanced the value of these session plans by clearly aligning the skills with curriculum frameworks used by educators. Furthermore, incorporating the framework into our structured work experience programme has enabled both the beneficiaries and the organisation to effectively measure the impact of the programme.

To improve participants’ understanding of and confidence in the essential skills required for a role in the energy sector

Since 2022, 3,400 young people have had the opportunity to build their essential skills through resources provided by SSE
Significant improvement in essential skills was seen for all participants between the start and end of the Career Ready programme (analysed via Skills Builder Benchmark data)
The Skills Builder Excellence Standards set clear guidelines for best practice across a business or team.
Business or teams who achieve these indicators work towards achieving an Excellence Mark accreditation.
