Delivered by In2action in collaboration with NCS, an online experience designed to give young people the information and skills they need to succeed in their next interview. Through activities, videos and information sharing we'll deliver top tips on preparing for, being in, and coping with the pressure of interviews, as well as what to do afterwards when the interview is all over.

Our programme helps young people with the essential skills of Listening, Speaking and Teamwork.

  • Listening: Young people will listen to others and record important information as they do so (Step 5) - young people are encouraged to make notes throughout, and we discuss the importance of taking notes and recording information in an interview to show how interested and engaged they are.
  • Speaking: Young people will learn to speak effectively by using appropriate tone, expression and gesture (Step 6) - we look at facial expressions and hand gestures in an interview situation, and how to deliver answers to interview questions using the correct tone of voice. We explore Communicating Positively and how it isn't all about verbal communication, but also how to tailor non-verbal communication to an interview situation.
  • Teamwork: Young people contribute to decision making whilst recognising the value of others' ideas (Step 7) - the group take part in an Interview Challenge where they allocate roles and get to practice their interview techniques. We will look at how to listen to others and their questions, and how to respond appropriately, and how to support their peers during the interview challenge to answer the quest
