Bridge the Gap Malvern Ltd is a specialist Alternative Provision for 16- to 25-year old students who have an EHCP (Education and Health Care Plan) and need a different approach to post-16 education. The organisation's goal is to help students to build the skills needed for independence and employment. They use the Skills Builder essential skills framework as the core thread of their curriculum and work with all their students. The initial focus is on the 4 skills that span self-management and communication skills.

All students do a baseline assessment of their skills as soon as possible when they join the programme.

The one-page Skills Builder 'Daily Diary' is used for individual reflection after each student session and, along with other pages from the Skills Builder reflective log, has been used to create a work experience log book.
