A three- or four-day work experience at a law firm to enable young people aged 14-18 to develop their employability skills.
Young people will develop their Speaking, Listening and Teamwork skills through a mixture of live Q&As and speed-networking with employees and real-work tasks which involve working in teams and presenting back to a panel of Linklaters employees. The young people will hear directly from employees about which essential skills are needed in different job roles. The young people will also have the opportunity to individually reflect on how they have used different skills after each task they complete, as well as completing a skills assessment at the beginning and end of the work experience programme to show development in their skills.
The Business Foundation Course focuses on the essential skills of Teamwork, Speaking and Listening. It provides opportunities to practise and improve these skills through work tasks. Participants complete the Skills Builder Benchmark and the beginning and end of the course, as well as filling out a Skills Builder Passport throughout the programme in order to have a record of progress.
