Cities of Learning helps people find new learning opportunities near them. The digital platform lets learners transform what they’ve studied into new skills, qualifications and careers. Working with local leaders, learning providers, and employers, Cities of Learning helps find untapped sources of community education and transform local lifelong learning. While encouraging a sense of place, identity, and ambition, Cities of Learning widens access to learning for all, prepares young people for work, joins up skills and industry, and creates a workforce ready for a changing world of work.

Learning providers help to raise awareness of essential skills which are demonstrated through their provision and accredited via digital badges. Badges can include a Skills Builder Universal Framework tag and reference the relevant stages of the selected skills’ Framework within their badge’s earning criteria. Learners can therefore select badges which focus on their target skills, and join up the stages of their essential skills progression and learning journey.

You can explore how badges support individuals to demonstrate their essential skills by clicking the link below.
