Volunteers Foundation's Youth Mentoring programme supports disadvantaged youth to overcome challenges, contribute to the community, thrive and reach their full potential.
With monthly sessions developed around the Skills Builder Framework, in particular the Staying Positive skill, learners are able to reflect and improve their ability to understand and manage emotions effectively, remain motivated and never give up.
Each interactive session, run by a team of professionals that share their knowledge and experience, is delivered remotely and focuses on a specific step.
Individual reflections and group discussions are followed by small tasks assigned during the session, offering the opportunity to share with the rest of the audience, provide feedback and make comments.
A toolbox is offered as a take away at the end of each session.

At the beginning of each session, we introduce the Universal Framework and invite attendees to share real-life examples of how they've applied the specific skill or step in the past week.

Throughout each session, we utilise resources from the Skills Builder Hub and relevant videos to deepen understanding and provide practical exercises, centered around the skill/step being taught.
This approach fosters group reflection and discussion. Each student is given small tasks to complete, which they then share with the group, receiving feedback and comments.

Every five sessions, we utilise a questionnaire adapted from the Benchmark platform to measure progress.
