Essential Skills in Aviation Workshop

London Luton Airport's 'Essential Skills in Aviation Workshop' introduces students from local Luton schools to the wide range of jobs on offer at the airport. Students meet volunteers from across diverse departments, working in small groups to ask questions and better understand the skills involved in their careers. Students are given a series of engaging and authentic tasks to practise their essential skills. Schools have a choice of three activity themes: early careers talent attraction, sustainability or accessibility. Students are given the opportunity to practise Listening, Speaking, Teamwork, Creativity and Problem Solving. Each activity has a focus skill step which is introduced, practised and reflected upon.
