Unsure on your next steps? Want a completely different way of discovering new skills? Or do you simply want to make a difference in your local community? Well, you’re in the right place! 16/17 year olds can now engage in the brand new Community Mix NCS programme. The Community Mix provides a clearer idea of what you want from your future, while also providing you vital volunteering social action experience that will help you make a difference in your own community all in your local, accessible areas. This NCS community programme offers a range of experiences. You will get the opportunity to mix with a new crowd, learn about independent living, take on new challenges and build lifelong friendships that will pave your way to your next steps in your life and make your own mark in the world, whatever your goals may be!

The power and influence of the club helps young people to practise and display the essential skills through the wonder of sporting activities. The essential skills that are embedded within the programme are at the heart of NCS Community Mix, and constant reference to these skills are key for every participant's feeling of success and development.

With the icons displayed at every session, discussions about one's skills is easy to be a part of with prompts and guidance from staff. Benchmark is also used for every participant to define what skills they will look to develop and improve as the sessions go on. With constant self and guided reflection on when and how these specific skills have been used not only on the programme but in everyday life. Recording their skill scores and monitoring even the smallest improvements on the skills is important for the young people on the programme to recognise their success and to translate this into their everyday lifestyle.
