Sport Impact runs a practical leadership course for primary school pupils in Hounslow and Richmond to develop their skills through physical activity. The course is aimed at students in Years 5 & 6 and runs for 1 hour per week over 6-8 weeks. The course is delivered directly to students or the Sport Impact team can work alongside a teacher or a coach in a school to deliver the course.

The course focuses on Leadership and covers Steps 0-5 from the Skills Builder Framework. Each session focuses on one Leadership Step at a time, brought to life through practical activities. Pupils reflect on their progress through written reflection activities in a skill workbook.

At the end of the course the students use their leadership skills to plan and deliver a multi-skills festival to students in Years 2 & 3. Students are then also offered opportunities to continue their Leadership journey by volunteering one lunchtime per week to manage a play zone in the playground.
