Solutions for the Planet (S4TP) is a social enterprise, that works to create a world where sustainable practices are commonplace; every young person is equipped with essential skills that benefit people and planet; and social creativity, innovation and diversity is built into every business and workplace.

S4TP use their wide network of youth organisations and school, college and university partners to build a bespoke panel of young people, bringing their unique voices into the heart of businesses to help future-proof strategies.  This panel then meets with the business to give their unbelievably valuable perspectives and ideas on subjects chosen and co-created between the business and the panel members.  Young people think without departmental barriers and bring actionable solutions to some of businesses' most intransigent issues, now and in the future.  The aim is that enduring relationships can be formed through a S4TP Youth Insights panel – a win for business and a win for the young people involved.

By joining a S4TP Youth Insights panel, young people are using their Aiming High skills and developing their Leadership skills by gaining experience of informing and influencing the agenda and decisions of a major company.

Their active participation in a panel over a specific period of time and across a broad range of topics also helps them to develop and reflect on the essential skills they are using and applying, such as teamwork, staying positive, listening, speaking, creativity and problem solving.

Having practised and applied these skills in their work, the young people are then guided to reflect upon how they have developed these essential skills through end-of-year surveys.

Solutions for the Planet also engages young people and businesses to shape a more sustainable future through the Big Ideas programme.
